How we work: Strong relationships

Arbor Circle’s Newaygo Counseling Services provides mental health, substance use, case management and prevention services to children, adolescents, adults and families.  Strong, therapeutic relationships provide clients with the positive support and dignity they need to develop a new perspective and use their strengths to create healthy, self-sufficient lives.

How it works

Services include culturally and developmentally appropriate assessments, treatment planning, and individual, group, family and prevention services. These services come in a wide array of treatment options including: individual, group, and family counseling, home based counseling, school based counseling and Jail and probation counseling.

Arbor Circle also provides Women’s Specialty Services to women who are pregnant and have children under the age of eighteen. Services include counseling for women and their children and families. There is also free childcare, transportation, and medical care. The service also includes case management services.

Strong, therapeutic relationships are the hallmark of Arbor Circle’s mission and work. Last year over 700 clients were served. Of those served:

  • 136 adolescents served in the five Newaygo County school districts at both the middle and high schools and 40 students received more comprehensive services
  • 52 clients served at the Newaygo County Jail and were guided through the process of returning to the community
  • 87% of those seen through Arbor Circle’s Newaygo Counseling Services reported a satisfactory experience
