Free therapy services available to LGBTQ teens now available at Grand Rapids Pride Center

Through our partnership with Arbor Circle, Grand Rapids Pride Center is proud to announce Sydney Sturm, LLMSW is available to meet with LGBTQ youth (13-24yrs) free of charge. Sydney holds drop-in office hours at the Pride Center from 5-7 on the YOUTH GROUP (13-17yrs) & PARENT'S GROUP nights. To schedule an appointment, outside of drop-in hours, either at the center or a location of the youth's choosing they or their parent/guardian, can CLICK HERE or call 616-558-9900. 


Sydney works within the community to provide a continuum of services to best meet the basic, behavioral and emotional needs of runaway and homeless youth and young adults.  Sydney focuses on working with youth and young adults to assist them to achieve their goals related to education and income and to support youth within finding safety in housing.

Specifically, with the Safe and Supported program with Arbor Circle and the Grand Rapids Pride Center, Sydney focuses on working to prevent health and mental health risks for LGBTQ+ youth, including suicide, homelessness, and support during the coming out process.  

It is estimated that of the identified youth that are homeless, 40% identify as LGBTQ. Sydney works closely within the LGBTQ community to better assist these youth and young adults with the coming out process and managing their needs while navigating through today’s society.
