Ensuring all children are healthy and learning
Arbor Circle’s Kent School Services Network (KSSN) services ensure that all children are healthy and learning by bringing health and human services into the school and community. Services provide a one-stop school and community location for families by providing a variety of basic need coordination, outpatient, in-home counseling and care coordination services to address the individual child, youth and family needs.
How it works
Arbor Circle’s KSSN program is part of a community-wide partnership that brings health, human services and basic needs coordination into 18 Kent County school sites to serve students and their families through a “community school” approach. Services are designed to address issues such as poor attendance and improve overall school performance issues. Services are housed within the following school sites:
- Cedar Springs Public Schools – District-wide
- Grand Rapids Public Schools
- Burton Elementary/Middle School
- Cesar Chavez Elementary
- SW Community Campus
Services are provided by Master’s Level Clinicians and Community School Coordinators. Clinicians provide outpatient and in-home child and family therapy services, access to psychiatric services, clinical case management and psycho-educational group services.
Community School Coordinators assist students and families with accessing basic need and community resources, help parents respond to children’s school issues and work with community businesses, faith-based institutions and others to bring resources into the schools.
Arbor Circle KSSN services are available to individuals and families who are in the schools identified above. Community School Coordination services are free. Counseling services accept most types of funding, including Medicaid, private insurance and the un-insured. Families can access services through KSSN school staff by requesting to speak with a KSSN staff person. Call us at (616) 456-6571 to learn more about Arbor Circle and how we can help.
